Assistant Food & Beverage Manager

Overview

This role entails managing all facets of food and beverage operations including culinary, restaurant, beverage, and room service departments. The incumbent will ensure guest and employee satisfaction, uphold operational standards, and strive to achieve or surpass financial targets. A strong command of all relevant food and beverage laws and regulations is required. Additionally, the role involves developing and executing business plans for the food and beverage division.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

Applicants must possess either a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of four years' experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related professions; or a two-year degree in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field with at least two years of professional experience in relevant areas.

Core Responsibilities

• Create and manage budgets focused on financial performance, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction within Food and Beverage operations.
• Maintain positive cost management metrics for kitchen and restaurant activities and align expenditures with financial goals.
• Oversee the daily management and supervision of Food and Beverage staff and operations, ensuring smooth functionality even in employees’ absence.
• Foster a workplace culture emphasizing motivation, teamwork, empowerment, continual improvement, and dedication to exceptional service.
• Provide superior customer service and rapidly address any employee or guest concerns.
• Coach, mentor, and counsel team members proactively, encouraging trust, respect, and collaboration among staff.
• Set clear goals, organize work priorities, and offer leadership to align departmental objectives efficiently.
• Drive adherence to brand service culture, ensuring all guests receive service that meets or exceeds expectations.
• Manage banquet functions to guarantee high standards and guest satisfaction.
• Handle human resource tasks such as performance management, coaching, training, and fostering fair treatment and open communication.
• Comply with corporate accounting procedures and maintain effective internal communication through various channels.
