Assistant Financial Controller - Investment Funds

About the Role

Our client, a prestigious global investment firm renowned for excellence and precision, is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to join their finance team in Dublin. This role offers a great chance for newly qualified Chartered Accountants from top-tier audit backgrounds to transition into a financial control role within the alternative investments sector, without prior controller experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the Financial Controller to manage daily financial operations.
• Handle accounts receivable and accounts payable processes efficiently.
• Post month-end journal entries and assist in preparing statutory and management accounts.
• Support group consolidation activities and contribute to tax filings and regulatory reporting.
• Engage in financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting exercises.
• Coordinate with senior leadership and assist the audit function as needed.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• ACA qualification achieved, either newly qualified or with up to four years post-qualification experience.
• Background in a Big 4 or top 10 audit firm.
• Experience auditing investment funds, including hedge funds, private credit, or private equity.
• Degree focused on business or finance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with NetSuite is advantageous.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and ready to take ownership in a financial control career path.
• Legal entitlement to live and work in Ireland, as visa sponsorship is not provided.
