Asset Management Specialist

Overview

Vistas Global is looking for a meticulous Asset Management Specialist based in Doha, Qatar to oversee IT inventory and asset management processes. This role demands accurate maintenance of asset records, efficient control of stock, and coordination for issuing and returning IT hardware across the company.

Core Duties

• Maintain detailed and precise records of all IT assets throughout their lifecycle, including laptops, desktops, and peripherals.
• Track and update asset registers regularly to ensure inventory accuracy and proper documentation such as tagging and identification.
• Manage IT stock levels and conduct routine inventory audits to reconcile stock and recommend replenishment as necessary.
• Coordinate issuance and return of IT devices aligning with employee status changes, verifying equipment conditions, and keeping issuance logs with requisite approvals.
• Handle incoming stock inspections, organize warehouse inventory, monitor damaged or obsolete assets, and facilitate stock transfers between sites.
• Uphold systematic store operations, ensuring compliance with handling procedures and safety standards, along with supporting asset verification and coordination with other departments.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive reports on asset allocation, inventory status, stock movement, warranty status, and disposal, supporting audits and internal queries.
• Collaborate across IT, Procurement, HR, and Finance teams to aid onboarding/offboarding asset logistics and procurement planning.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in IT Asset Management, Inventory Control, Store Operations, or IT logistics environments.
• Demonstrated capability handling enterprise-level IT hardware inventories and familiarity with asset or inventory management software.

Skills and Competencies

• Expertise in managing IT asset lifecycles, including tracking, registration, tagging, auditing, and documentation.
• Proficient in inventory and stock management, including reconciliation, receiving goods, warehouse processes, and material handling.
• Experienced in device issuance, asset returns, allocation, and warranty tracking.
• Capable of producing detailed documentation and reports (asset registers, audit documentation, inventory summaries).
• Technical proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, IT asset management systems, ERP modules like SAP or Oracle, and preferably barcode/RFID tracking.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, teamwork, customer service orientation, and capability to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• ITIL Foundation certification is advantageous.
• Experience with advanced asset management tools such as ServiceNow, ManageEngine AssetExplorer, or SCCM.
• Knowledgeable in IT procurement processes and asset lifecycle best practices.
• Background supporting enterprise IT infrastructure environments is favored.
