Role overview
Amazon XCM is hiring a practical, hands-on Art Director to join the Customer Engagement team in Europe. This is a concept-led creative role for someone who enjoys both shaping ideas and producing the work themselves. You will develop campaigns and visual concepts and then execute them across social, motion, digital, out-of-home, and customer engagement channels that reach a broad European audience.
The position suits a socially fluent creative with a strong eye for visual storytelling and a genuine interest in creating for multiple formats and platforms. You will contribute directly to design and art direction work while collaborating with copywriters, marketers, and other creatives to deliver strong customer experiences.
As part of Amazon XCM, you will help build customer-facing campaigns that support discovery, engagement, and loyalty, while consistently pushing the creative quality higher.
Location
This position can be based in London, Paris, Milan, or Madrid.
Key responsibilities
- Develop campaign ideas and visual concepts that address customer and business needs across acquisition, engagement, and retention.
- Build integrated campaigns spanning social, motion, digital, out-of-home, display, CRM, and new customer touchpoints.
- Carry ideas from concept to finished output while staying deeply involved in the creative process.
- Create adaptable creative systems and campaign assets that can be efficiently localized across several European markets, languages, and formats.
- Produce strong visual design and motion assets that combine craft quality with the need for speed and scale.
- Work closely with copywriters, creative directors, marketers, programme managers, and production teams to deliver joined-up campaigns.
- Turn customer insights, social behavior, and emerging trends into effective creative solutions.
- Share and explain creative thinking clearly to stakeholders, responding to feedback while protecting the overall creative standard.
- Promote creative excellence across the team and explore new tools, workflows, and AI-supported creative methods.
- Juggle several projects at once while handling ambiguity, fast-moving priorities, and changing demands without compromising quality.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading compelling creative strategy and delivery within an agency or in-house creative environment.
- Ability to design modular systems or templates that support high-volume digital production.
- Experience producing motion or social-first creative for performance-led digital campaigns.
- Solid understanding of motion design, vertical video, and platform-specific creative formats.
- Strong collaboration skills when working with copy and campaign creative partners.
