Role Overview
We are seeking a dependable, highly organized, and customer-oriented Area Manager to oversee several locations in Northern Ontario, specifically around Greater Sault Ste. Marie. This full-time permanent role involves managing operational efficiency, meeting contractual obligations, and delivering superior client service across multiple sites.
Responsibilities
- Perform electronic inspections to ensure compliance with contracts and company standards.
- Supervise janitorial teams across multiple locations and allocate duties as per contract requirements.
- Recommend staffing actions including hiring and termination to manage workforce levels.
- Collaborate with staff to handle operational and personnel challenges effectively.
- Approve employee shifts via payroll system and manage supply orders within budget limits.
- Coordinate additional service billing with Operations and Accounts Receivable departments.
- Conduct recruitment, onboarding, and employee training sessions.
- Lead monthly health and safety training and participate in safety meetings.
- Investigate workplace incidents and disciplinary or safety issues.
- Maintain positive client relationships and serve as a liaison between clients and the regional office.
- Manage work order requests to ensure prompt service delivery.
- Safeguard company confidentiality and execute other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership with excellent organizational and communication abilities.
- Exceptional customer service and relationship management skills.
- Capability to handle multiple locations and priorities efficiently.
- Previous supervisory experience in service settings preferred.
- Competent in computer usage with experience in payroll/timekeeping software.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the region.
- Successful completion of federal background checks is mandatory.
- French language proficiency is advantageous but not essential.

Work Schedule and Location
The position is based in Greater Sault Ste. Marie and surrounding areas, operating Monday through Friday with occasional weekend hours as needed.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is between $62,000 and $70,000 annually.
