Role Overview

TCS is recruiting an experienced Apigee Designer with over 8 years of expertise for its Chennai location. The position involves end-to-end design and implementation of API solutions using Google Apigee Edge and Apigee X platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy APIs leveraging Apigee Edge or Apigee X technologies.
• Create and maintain API proxies, gateway products, developer portals, and applications.
• Develop RESTful APIs adhering to API governance and design standards.
• Apply security protocols including OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Keys, and mutual TLS to protect APIs.
• Implement traffic control policies such as rate limiting, quota enforcement, spike arrest, and caching mechanisms.
• Perform API mediation, transformation, routing, and orchestration to meet integration requirements.
• Integrate APIs with backend services, microservices, cloud infrastructures, and enterprise software systems.
• Monitor API health by analyzing performance metrics and analytics data.
• Resolve production incidents efficiently while tuning APIs for optimal performance.
• Collaborate closely with technical architects, development teams, and business units throughout the API lifecycle.

Required Expertise

• Strong knowledge of Apigee platforms (Apigee Edge, Apigee X) and API management concepts.
• Hands-on experience with API gateways, REST API design, and API security standards such as OAuth 2.0 and JWT.
• Familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger specifications and creating shared flows and flow hooks.
• Understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.
• Skilled in microservices architecture and API governance practices.
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Capability to design and manage developer portals effectively.
