Job description

Position Overview

This full-time role based in Huntsville, Texas, supports the Office of the Inspector General at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. The Administrative Assistant III is responsible for daily management, tracking, and reporting of fixed assets and providing essential administrative assistance, including information dissemination, report preparation, editing, and maintenance of filing systems.

Key Duties

  • Maintain and monitor fixed assets on a regular basis.
  • Support administrative operations such as preparing, editing, and proofreading reports and documents.
  • Organize and sustain filing systems effectively.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will have experience operating computers and be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar applications involving word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations. Being highly organized and detail-oriented is essential.

Preference is given to those with fixed asset inventory management experience and a keen eye for reviewing reporting accuracy and content validation.

Additional Information

  • Retirees are eligible but will receive a salary 2.5% lower than the listed amount.
  • Position requires traveling approximately 25% of the time, involving 1-5 nights away monthly.
  • No pre-service training or academy attendance is required.
  • This is not a hazardous duty or longevity-based classification.
  • No access to critical infrastructure as defined by the Governor's executive order GA-48.
