Village Lifestyle Coordinator

Role Overview

Join the team at Shona McFarlane Retirement Village in Avalon, Lower Hutt, as a Village Lifestyle Coordinator. This full-time, Monday to Friday position from 9:00am to 5:30pm offers an opportunity to positively impact the lives of older adults by organizing engaging, inclusive, and person-centered activities designed to promote wellbeing, social connection, and an enhanced quality of life.

Key Duties

• Lead and create diverse, enjoyable activities, outings, and social events that bring residents together in a vibrant community environment.
• Encourage active participation to strengthen community bonds among residents.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, their families, and local community groups.
• Oversee event logistics including bookings, budget management, communication with residents, attendance tracking, and scheduling through activity calendars.
• Perform administrative responsibilities such as reporting and documentation to ensure smooth program delivery.
• Collaborate with wider village teams to provide memorable and inclusive experiences that support residents' independence and wellbeing.

Candidate Profile

• Personable and approachable with a genuine passion for connecting with others and enhancing the lives of seniors.
• Organized and confident in managing multiple events alongside administrative duties.
• Proficient with computer systems for reporting, event planning, and communication tasks.
• Effective communicator with a professional and positive demeanor.
• Experience in event coordination, hospitality, recreation, community engagement, administration, or customer service is beneficial but not mandatory.
