Accountant

Overview

An opportunity is open for a meticulous and analytical Accountant to join a finance team supporting client operations in Dubai. The role centers on maintaining reliable books, handling routine accounting tasks, and helping ensure adherence to applicable local regulations. Candidates should bring more than 2 years of relevant professional experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Keep the general ledger updated, post journal entries, and manage daily accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Complete monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, vendors, and credit cards to support accurate financial reporting.
• Assist with UAE VAT return preparation and submission in line with local compliance requirements.
• Support month-end closing activities, including preparation of closure reports, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.
• Prepare and organize accounting records and documentation for external audit reviews and annual audits.

Requirements & Qualifications

• At least 2 years of uninterrupted experience in a corporate accounting role; exposure to the UAE market will be considered an added advantage.
• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar discipline is required; ongoing or completed ACCA, CPA, or CMA studies are a plus.
• Strong working knowledge of accounting systems such as Tally, SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks, along with advanced Excel capabilities including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
• Excellent attention to detail, solid numerical skills, and strong spoken and written English communication are expected.
