Role Overview

The 3D Designer, Experiential, is charged with transforming concepts into detailed spatial visualizations, creating immersive 3D environments that convey design intent for venues, branded spaces, and experiences. This role demands understanding how physical spaces are designed, constructed, and interacted with, extending beyond mere visual rendering.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop photorealistic 3D models and renderings for experiential settings.
• Convert sketches, CAD files, and conceptual ideas into compelling visualizations including still images and walkthrough animations.
• Model architectural elements, interiors, signage, and scenic components with attention to scale, material properties, lighting, and user experience.
• Collaborate closely with design teams to iterate concepts rapidly using 3D tools.
• Contribute to early-stage idea development via prototyping and 3D visualization.
• Incorporate practical factors such as materials, fabrication, and installation constraints into models.
• Prepare files optimized for downstream production and documentation.
• Partner with experiential designers, architects, and production teams to ensure cohesive outcomes.
• Create high-quality visuals and animations supporting client presentations.

Candidate Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of experience in 3D or experiential design, environmental design, or a related discipline.
• Portfolio should demonstrate expertise in crafting spatial environments rather than standalone objects.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as SketchUp, Rhino, Blender, 3ds Max, or similar.
• Skillful use of rendering platforms like V-Ray, Enscape, Lumion, Twinmotion, or Unreal Engine.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong grasp of lighting, materials, composition, and environmental design principles.
• Spatial design sensibility including architecture and interior concepts with an ability to visualize user flow and experience.
• Attention to detail with an emphasis on visual storytelling.
• Preferred but not mandatory: experience with real-time engines like Unreal, motion/animation skills for walkthroughs, fabrication or scenic production knowledge, and previous work in sports, entertainment, or branded environment contexts.

Education

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Graphic Design, Architecture, Environmental Design, Interior Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.

Work Conditions

• Location: Nashville, Tennessee, with approximately 20–30% travel requirements.
• Position is full-time and exempt.
