Anglo American Australia operates the Grosvenor underground steelmaking coal mine in Moranbah, about 190 kilometres south-west of Mackay. The mine first produced longwall coal in May 2016. After a localised ignition at Grosvenor Mine on 29 June 2024, the site is currently in a project stage focused on restarting operations. Anglo American’s Board has approved funding to support the restart, with a goal of returning to longwall production in Q4 2027. The business is looking for motivated people who want to help reshape underground mining through better processes, equipment design, technology, automation, and monitoring.
Role summary
As a Warehouse Officer at Grosvenor Mine, you will support the efficient running of warehouse activities while keeping safety at the centre of everything you do. Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, your work will focus on inventory control, direct-charge purchasing, vendor-held inventory, consignment spares, and consumables. You will also deliver responsive service to internal users so materials and goods are supplied on time and according to operational needs.
Key duties
- Support the receipt, storage, safeguarding, and issue of company assets.
- Keep the warehouse tidy, orderly, and safe to work in.
- Use a forklift and any other required equipment in a safe manner.
- Make sure the correct parts and quantities are picked.
- Carry out tasks in line with current productivity targets.
- Package parts securely and appropriately for movement.
- Ensure items are dispatched to the correct destination.
- Work to customer delivery deadlines.
- Track procurement activity, shipping progress, and delivery of materials.
- Coordinate the shipping, monitoring, and receipt of incoming materials with the procurement team.
- Keep the project team updated on changes in material availability and project resources.
- Help develop, implement, and follow processes, procedures, and company policies that support cost-effective and timely movement of supplies and materials.
- Communicate lead times, delays, and any other issues affecting project delivery from a materials availability perspective.
- Manage inventory and stock control activities.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s licence, preferably for a manual light vehicle.
- Certificate III in Warehousing & Logistics, or equivalent practical experience.
- Current forklift high-risk LF licence is mandatory.
- Prior experience in a warehouse or procurement setting.
- Warehouse experience in mining or another heavy industrial environment is an advantage.
- Experience with EWP equipment and Microsoft Office is desirable.
- Ability to use SAP for warehouse-related tasks is desirable.
- Knowledge of mine-site consumables and the ability to interpret maintenance parts will be viewed favourably.
Work arrangements and additional details
This role offers multiple permanent full-time opportunities based at Grosvenor Mine in Moranbah, Queensland. Two roster options are available: a Monday to Friday staff roster on a 9-day fortnight, or a 7 days on / 7 days off day-night roster. The package includes a competitive salary, 12% superannuation, and an annual bonus. Residential, FIFO (company funded), and DIDO options are available, along with subsidised accommodation and company-funded camp options. Daily bus transfers are provided from the airport to camp and on to site, and relocation assistance is available.
