Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Video Editor to work on a contract basis with an onsite presence. Candidates must reside in the US, Canada, or Europe and be at least 18 years old. The role begins with a freelance trial period and may transition to a permanent position based on performance.
Compensation
Payment is done per completed video. The starting rate for the trial video is $250, with potential pay increases depending on the quality and polish of the edits, reducing the need for additional corrections by the employer.
Responsibilities and Expectations
- Participate in face-to-face video calls as required.
- Create video edits demonstrating real content experience; submissions must include a portfolio or resume link.
- Maintain a high standard of editing that requires minimal changes or fixes.
- Strive to deliver 2 to 3 videos weekly, balancing quality and efficient turnaround times.
- Engage actively with the creative process, showing enthusiasm for experimentation and continuous learning.
- Collaborate closely to grow the channel and eventually explore personal growth opportunities.
Preferred Skills
- Strong initiative and refined creative taste.
- Ability to imitate established editing styles and adopt new editing directions given by the employer.
- An understanding of visual storytelling, narrative pacing, and YouTube’s content style requirements, especially avoiding stock footage in favor of b-roll.
- Motivation to learn, grow, and potentially develop individual projects over time.
