Vice President Operations

Role Overview

A major food manufacturing company based near Chicago is looking for a Vice President of Operations to oversee multiple sites. The successful applicant will join the senior leadership team and will be responsible for guiding daily plant operations, managing budgets, enforcing compliance standards, and handling administrative challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee operations across three facilities employing over 2000 workers
• Lead and support plant managers and directors through mentorship
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and food quality regulations
• Evaluate operational processes including budget management and team effectiveness
• Contribute to strategic growth initiatives as part of the executive leadership
• Facilitate cross-functional projects and initiatives

Candidate Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or MBA preferred
• More than 15 years in food manufacturing plant management, including at least 2 years overseeing multiple sites
• Experience managing large-scale manufacturing operations with at least 1000 employees
• Background in USDA-regulated sectors, particularly meat or frozen food industries
• Strong strategic planning capabilities
• Demonstrated ability to build productive corporate cultures
• Focus on continuous process improvement
• Bilingual in Spanish is an advantage
