About the Role
The Vehicle Inspector at Peach Cars KE, located in Nairobi, will perform meticulous assessments of vehicles, covering both mechanical and cosmetic conditions. The inspector plays a critical role in detecting faults or issues and generating detailed reports that aid in vehicle purchase or sale decisions. This position demands in-depth automotive expertise, keen attention to detail, and clear communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed vehicle inspections focusing on mechanical components and exterior/interior conditions alongside the Assistant Inspector.
- Review and confirm the accuracy and consistency of inspection results from personal evaluations and those by the Assistant Inspector.
- Identify, diagnose, and document vehicle issues rigorously to ensure comprehensive records of inspection findings.
- Analyze inspection data and create well-organized, understandable reports.
- Perform precise inspections maintaining strict quality and accuracy standards.
- Explain inspection outcomes and recommendations to customers to ensure clarity and understanding.
- Lead or participate in internal training to enhance the inspection team’s skills and knowledge.
- Engage in continuous improvement by supporting research, development, and process innovation within the inspection department.
Qualifications and Expertise
- Diploma or certificate in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in Vehicle Inspection, Automotive Diagnostics, or Motor Vehicle Mechanics.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in vehicle inspection, diagnostics, or repair work.
- Proficient with evaluating engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, electrical setups, bodywork, and interiors.
- Familiar with standards for vehicle pre-purchase and pre-repair inspections.
- Competent in utilizing inspection instruments such as OBD scanners and computerized diagnostic tools.
- Skilled in manual inspections and producing digital inspection reports.
