Position Overview
We are looking for a talented UX/UI Designer to join our expanding eCommerce team in New York, NY. This role blends expertise in user experience and interface design to craft engaging digital interactions that drive user engagement and business success. Collaborating closely with creative, development, marketing, and brand teams, the designer will create consistent, user-focused designs applicable across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Key Duties
- Develop new web standards, user journeys, and reusable design modules.
- Produce wireframes, interactive prototypes, user flows, and high-fidelity visual designs that clearly communicate user interactions.
- Create and maintain a UX roadmap to identify and capitalize on opportunities for enhancing user experience and conversion rates.
- Design and analyze A/B tests aimed at improving site performance and customer conversion.
- Lead usability testing sessions and integrate user feedback into iterative design improvements.
- Utilize customer behavior analytics, heatmaps, and conversion data to inform design choices.
- Craft responsive user interfaces optimized for multi-device usage, maintaining strict adherence to brand guidelines.
- Build and update component libraries, design systems, and eCommerce design standards for scalable design solutions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with creative, technical, marketing, and branding teams to align designs with business objectives and technical constraints.
- Partner with developers to ensure designs are feasible and implemented successfully.
- Identify user friction points along customer journeys and strategize improvements to boost engagement and conversions.
- Support continual optimization of the eCommerce experience through rigorous testing and iteration.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of two years’ experience actively engaged in UX/UI design roles.
- A strong portfolio showcasing projects focused on user-centered design.
- Proficiency in designing responsive experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms.
- Advanced skills in Figma or comparable design and prototyping tools.
- In-depth understanding of user-centered design principles.
- Experience conducting usability testing and incorporating feedback effectively.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices.
- Ability to interpret A/B test results, conversion optimization metrics, heatmaps, and customer behavior data.
- Exceptional visual design skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience with Shopify Plus platforms.
Preferred Skills
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Skills in motion graphics or animation.
- Experience in a dynamic eCommerce or direct-to-consumer setting.
