UX Design Manager

Role Overview

Join IDEXX’s Auckland innovation hub as a Product Design Manager focused on shaping user experience and design across veterinary software platforms. This role requires hands-on leadership and collaboration with Product and Engineering teams to create user-focused solutions that positively impact veterinary practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design initiatives to develop user-centric solutions within veterinary software platforms.
• Work closely with Product Managers and Engineers to prioritize and deliver impactful product features.
• Design comprehensive plans and implement strong UX and UI methods to bring concepts to life.
• Conduct user research and leverage insights to enhance the customer experience across products.
• Develop interactive prototypes and design concepts to validate ideas.
• Create and maintain user interface components and patterns to ensure design consistency.
• Engage with customers and internal stakeholders to deeply understand workflows and user requirements.
• Lead user testing activities and refine designs based on feedback for continuous improvement.
• Mentor and support design team members, providing constructive feedback and leadership.
• Contribute to fostering a strong design culture and raising design standards company-wide.
• Align design strategies with business objectives and technical requirements through collaboration with leadership.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience in UX/UI design in a product or software development setting.
• Strong customer-focused approach with the ability to translate user needs into effective designs.
• Experience with user research, usability testing, and prototyping techniques.
• Meticulous attention to detail and passion for intuitive user experiences.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Solid understanding of software development processes, particularly Agile methodologies.
• Self-motivated, curious, and proactive in solving problems.

Preferred Additional Experience

• Leadership or mentorship experience in design roles.
• Background in SaaS or platform-based software environments.
• Knowledge of complex workflow-driven or enterprise applications.
