Role Overview
The Turbine Assembly Manager is responsible for planning and executing the monthly turbine assembly shop schedule, ensuring smooth workflow and timely handover to the packing department through effective monitoring using the PDCA methodology. You will coordinate skilled manpower and necessary machinery to meet Lean Efficiency (LE), Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OE), and Total Quality Management (TQM) standards, especially focusing on hydro testing, mandrel handling, clearance setting, and module measurements.
Key Duties
- Ensure availability of all shop resources including tooling, fixtures, instruments, and machines to prevent any delays or waiting periods.
- Review and verify shop record sheets and inspection checklists submitted by supervisors and workmen.
- Implement Integrated Management System (IMS) standards across the shop floor effectively.
- Conduct delay analysis by comparing planned schedules against actual completion and identify root causes using the PDCA method.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality Control teams to brainstorm and enhance process stability and improvements.
- Advise the design department with recommendations aimed at reducing cycle times and improving design aspects.
- Carry out assembly of turbine and generator components as per requirements from the overhauling site team.
- Perform refurbishment assembly work aligned with purchase order scope on refurbishment projects.
- Promote Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) goals by managing unsafe acts and conditions, and regularly reviewing Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) results.
- Manage proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials such as oil-soaked cotton, plastics, chemical containers, and paint drums.
- Drive safety performance improvements by increasing 5S audit scores and maintaining high Safety Performance Index (SPI) at both shop floor and office areas.
