Role Overview
This full-time, on-site Truck Driver position based in Winnipeg, Manitoba involves the transportation of stone, gravel, and associated materials to and from construction sites. Responsibilities include operating trucks and slinger machinery, securing loads properly, adhering to scheduled delivery times, and ensuring safe unloading per site requirements. The role requires compliance with designated routes, company policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate trucks and slinger equipment to transport bulk materials.
- Conduct basic pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Secure loads safely and unload materials following site safety standards.
- Maintain communication with dispatchers, site supervisors, and team members.
- Complete documentation including delivery records and vehicle inspection reports.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety of vehicle and work area.
Required Qualifications
- Possess a valid CDL Class A license and demonstrated truck driving experience.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and safe operation of heavy trucks.
- Competence in safely managing loading and unloading of stone and gravel.
- Maintain a clean driving record and strong knowledge of road and workplace safety.
- Ability to perform vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance issues.
- Good communication skills and dependable adherence to schedules and instructions.
- Experience in construction or aggregate hauling is a plus.
- Willingness to work in outdoor conditions and perform physically demanding work.
