Program Overview
The Transnet Graduate Trainee Program welcomes highly driven young graduates aiming to advance their careers in Marine Technology. The program offers exceptional training using state-of-the-art equipment, including a multi-million rand full-mission Ship Handling Simulator located at the Maritime School of Excellence (MSoE) satellite campus in Durban. This simulator trains Marine Pilots and Tug Masters according to International Standards Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) requirements and provides refresher skill development.
Further training is supported by various Terminal Operations Simulators including RTG Cranes and Ship-to-Shore Container Cranes, allowing participants to gain real-time operational experience. Additional advanced equipment like Reach Stacker, Counter Balance, Mobile Harbour Crane, Rail Mounted Gantry, Straddle Carrier, and Truck Handling Simulators complement this world-class maritime training.
This training and employment opportunity aligns with Transnet's Market Demand Strategy, benefiting not only the company but also the maritime industry within South Africa and beyond.
