Role Overview

We are supporting a premier European real estate investment platform in recruiting a Transaction Analyst to become part of its Berlin-based Transactions team. This practical investment position provides exposure to acquisitions, disposals, and joint ventures involving office, hotel, residential, logistics, and development properties.

Key Duties

  • Developing and maintaining detailed financial models in Excel.
  • Assisting with underwriting processes for acquisitions, disposals, and development projects.
  • Performing discounted cash flow (DCF), internal rate of return (IRR), cash flow, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Testing assumptions rigorously and analyzing downside scenarios.
  • Spotting potential investment risks and opportunities.
  • Supporting commercial, legal, financial, and technical due diligence workstreams.
  • Coordinating among advisers, managing data rooms, and facilitating collaboration across internal teams.
  • Creating comprehensive investment documents, transaction summaries, and presentation decks.
  • Conducting market research, comparable property analysis, and initial deal screening.
  • Assisting with execution and closing phases of transactions.
  • Tracking deal pipelines and maintaining transaction management tools.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should have 1 to 3 years of relevant real estate experience across fields such as investment, transactions, valuation, asset management, advisory, private equity, or investment analysis. A background that includes hands-on financial analysis, underwriting, valuation, or involvement in transaction processes within real estate is essential.

Required Expertise

  • Proficiency in Excel and experience developing real estate financial models.
  • Fundamental understanding of underwriting principles tailored to real estate.
  • Familiarity with DCF, IRR, cash flow, and scenario sensitivity analyses.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical capabilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • A commercially minded and proactive approach to work.
  • Fluent English language proficiency; German language skills are highly desirable.
