Role Overview
Join the NHS Wales Trainee Clinical Scientist programme in Genomics, an excellent opportunity for science graduates to apply their academic knowledge in a clinical setting while advancing their careers. This three-year fixed-term contract places you at the forefront of healthcare science, supporting the diagnosis, prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients through genomic science.
Training and Work Experience
As a Trainee Clinical Scientist, you will be employed by NHS Wales and undertake a nationally recognised, work-based training programme in genomics. This pathway complies with the Academy of Health Care Science Equivalence requirements to achieve registered clinical scientist status. The role may involve rotations, with possible short-term secondments at various locations within Wales.
Employment Details
This salaried postgraduate position offers a starting salary at the first point of Band 6 and is fixed for three years, designed to meet service needs. Successful completion of the training programme may lead to strong prospects for permanent employment within Wales and further career progression opportunities for committed and adaptable individuals.
