Traffic Control Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and driven Traffic Control Engineer specialized in Infrastructure and Earthworks projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, executing, and managing site traffic management plans (TMP) and logistical processes on large-scale earthworks and infrastructure developments. The primary goal is to ensure efficient movement of machinery and vehicles, reduce traffic interruptions, and enforce rigorous site road safety measures specifically for heavy construction equipment and earthmoving vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and implement detailed Traffic Management Plans and detour strategies adhering to regulations from local transportation authorities.
• Supervise and control the movement of heavy machinery, routes for mass haulage, access roads, and points of entry and exit at earthworks sites.
• Manage site traffic safety elements including signage, temporary barriers, lighting systems, and deployment of flaggers.
• Perform ongoing traffic safety risk evaluations and apply necessary improvements to eliminate potential site road accidents.
• Liaise with municipal officials, traffic departments, clients, and contractors to obtain required traffic permits and permissions.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is mandatory.
• Possession of certifications such as Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS), Traffic Control Technician (TCT), and Work Zone Traffic Control Safety Certification is required.
• NEBOSH International General Certificate or OSHA certification related to construction road safety is advantageous.
• Proven track record with at least 3 to 5 years of experience in traffic control, site logistics, and road safety within major infrastructure or civil projects.
• In-depth understanding of Ministry of Transport and municipality traffic regulations, proficiency in AutoCAD for traffic layout designs, and expertise in managing heavy equipment traffic flow.
