Job description

Job Overview

The Tool Keeper is responsible for managing and maintaining inventory of tools, equipment, materials, and consumables, supporting outage execution activities. This role ensures adherence to company protocols, health, safety, and environmental standards, as well as quality requirements, guaranteeing the availability and reliability of all tools and equipment.

Inventory & Tool Management

  • Conduct daily management of inventories for tools, equipment, materials, and consumables to support continuous outage operations.
  • Keep precise records of inventory, detect shortages, and initiate restocking through procurement when necessary.
  • Coordinate with Outage Managers and Field Service Engineers to assess inventory needs and request new tools.
  • Track lost, damaged, or broken tools, maintaining user accountability to safeguard assets.
  • Ensure compliance with 5S organization standards and proper housekeeping of tools and storage spaces.
  • Maintain minimum stock levels for various tool containers and equipment stored onsite.
  • Support outage activities by issuing, receiving, and replenishing tools as required.
  • Handle receipt of materials and equipment from onsite vendors and update inventory records accordingly.

Certification & Inspection

  • Maintain current certifications for tools and equipment to comply with internal and external regulations.
  • Arrange for servicing, calibration, certification, and repairs through third-party vendors.
  • Perform regular internal inspections to confirm tool readiness and safety compliance.
  • Keep detailed records of inspections and certifications for all equipment.

Health, Safety, Security & Environment

  • Follow all health, safety, security, and environmental rules to maintain a safe working environment and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Promote proper handling, storage, loading, unloading, and stacking practices for tools and materials in line with HSE standards.
  • Ensure waste management, cleanliness, and environmental protocols are observed within storage and warehouse areas.

Additional Duties

  • Assist with physical inventory counts during audits.
  • Support material handling such as loading and stacking equipment and consumables.
  • Maintain workplace organization according to 5S principles consistently.
  • Carry out other operational and outage-related duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Warehouse, and Outage teams to ensure smooth coordination and tool availability.
  • Communicate with contractors, certification bodies, vendors, and auditors regarding tooling and inventory matters.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent qualification required.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, warehouse operations, and tool control practices.

Experience

  • At least two years of experience in tool keeping, inventory management, or related warehouse operations, preferably onsite.
  • Experience with handling industrial tools, certification documentation, and inventory systems.

Skills

  • Hands-on expertise in tool and inventory management along with warehouse procedures.
  • Familiarity with industrial maintenance tools used in outage scenarios.
  • Understanding of HSE and quality compliance standards.
  • Effective communication skills including reading, writing, and reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail coupled with organizational ability.
  • Team-oriented with solid interpersonal collaboration skills.
