Our team in Dar es Salaam is seeking a dedicated Tobacco Processing Operator to maintain quality and efficient tobacco processing operations in compliance with organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate key tobacco processing lines including Blending Line, CRES Line, Lamina Line, CFT Bin filling station, Maker CFT feeders, and C48 filling station with proficiency.
- Manage tobacco in-feed operations and use forklift expertly to move materials within limited space on the shop floor.
- Inspect and thoroughly clean tobacco process lines before operation starts, especially after dark-fired blends, and perform detailed cleaning at production day's end according to machine cleaning protocols.
- Promote and uphold workplace safety by consistently wearing proper protective equipment and maintaining safe machine operation.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the work area throughout shifts by adhering to housekeeping and tool organization standards.
- Communicate effectively with Team Lead and colleagues to ensure smooth workflow between upstream and downstream production stations.
Candidate Profile
- A university degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Fluency in both English and Swahili to facilitate clear communication.
- At least two years of experience working specifically within a tobacco processing setting.
- Basic proficiency in computer use.
- Capability to operate Lamina Conditioning, casing, and Stem conditioning work centers confidently.
