Role Summary
The organization is hiring an experienced Telecommunications Rigger for full-time or casual roles, focusing on constructing telecom towers and installing, maintaining, and upgrading telecom equipment across various sites in Western Australia.
Primary Duties
- Assemble and construct telecommunications towers and related infrastructure.
- Climb and work safely on towers and other telecom structures.
- Install antennas, feeders, cabling, mounting brackets, and associated hardware.
- Conduct inspections and basic functional testing of deployed equipment.
- Assist in maintenance and fault detection operations.
- Participate in safety risk assessments, pre-start safety meetings, and toolbox talks.
- Collaborate closely with supervisors, field teams, and project managers to fulfill project goals and timelines.
- Ensure strict adherence to company, client, and site-specific safety regulations.
Employment Details
- Positions available on full-time and casual contracts.
- Hourly compensation ranges from $38 to $50 based on credentials and experience.
- Travel allowances are provided.
- Job locations cover metropolitan and regional areas within Western Australia.
- Remote work requiring travel and overnight stays away from home is expected.
- Some duties may occur outside regular working hours depending on project needs.
Mandatory Qualifications and Skills
- Current certification for Working at Heights.
- Valid First Aid Certificate.
- Rigging High Risk Work Licence.
- Dogging High Risk Work Licence.
- Possession of a Construction White Card.
- Current Australian driver’s licence.
- Demonstrated ability to safely operate at heights and comply with safety standards.
- Capability to interpret and follow work plans and instructions precisely.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness and ability to travel and stay away from home as required.
Preferred Additional Certifications and Experience
- Elevating Work Platform (EWP) High Risk Work Licence.
- Forklift High Risk Work Licence.
- Qualification or ticket in operating excavators.
- Certification in Confined Space Entry.
- Training in Tower Rescue techniques.
- Knowledge of Electromagnetic Equipment (EME) awareness.
- Experience working on mine sites.
- Proven background in telecommunications tower construction.
- Experience installing antennas, feeders, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling.
- Familiarity with telecom testing equipment and installation standards.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate must be safety-conscious, dependable, and effective working within small field teams. Comfort with outdoor work conditions and willingness to travel extensively within Western Australia, including overnight stays away from home, are essential.
