Technician (Electrician)

About the Role

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking a skilled Technician (Electrician) to join their Engineering & Facilities team in Doha, Qatar. This full-time, non-management position involves responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting various building systems. The role requires a proactive approach to maintaining hotel facilities and ensuring guest satisfaction. Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to guest requests for repairs and maintenance.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on tools, equipment, and mechanical systems.
• Identify and operate shut-off valves for equipment and building utilities.
• Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and requisition replacements as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and issues to other shifts.
• Conduct basic repairs on electrical components, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, and minor drywall/wood trim repairs.
• Replace light bulbs, air conditioning filters, and other guestroom items.
• Program televisions and assist with engineering-related inventory tasks.
• Utilize the Lockout/Tagout system for all maintenance work.
• Perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping and sprinkler systems.
• Input air handler schedules and adjust temperature settings using basic computer skills.
• Ensure all company safety and security policies are followed.
• Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
• Complete safety training and certifications as required.
• Properly store flammable materials.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance and ensure uniform is presentable.
• Protect company assets and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Acknowledge and assist guests according to company standards, including those with disabilities.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and support team goals.
• Speak clearly and professionally with others.
• Move, lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, and heavier items with assistance.
• Navigate stairs, service ramps, and ladders.
• Perform tasks requiring reaching overhead, below the knees, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Enter and retrieve work-related information using computers.
• Undertake other reasonable job duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.
• Some experience in general maintenance, including exterior and interior surface preparation and painting.
• Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is considered a plus.
• No supervisory experience is required.
• A valid Driver's License is mandatory.
• Basic computer skills are necessary for tasks like inputting schedules and making temperature adjustments.
• Ability to acquire knowledge in areas such as air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Proficiency in using the Lockout/Tagout system.

Eligibility

This role is open to individuals with a high school diploma or equivalent, and some experience in general maintenance. Prior experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is advantageous. A valid driver's license is required. The position is for individuals who can perform the physical demands of the job and are committed to upholding company standards.
