Acting as a strategic collaborator to hiring managers, you must stay informed on current market trends, candidate caliber, and recruitment tactics. Your representation of the company will often be the initial impression candidates receive, making professionalism and insight critical. This position demands innovative sourcing abilities, sound decision-making, and the capacity to act swiftly while maintaining thorough hiring practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement sourcing plans that target passive candidates in fields such as aerospace, defense, propulsion, electrical engineering, and manufacturing by utilizing LinkedIn, industry connections, academic collaborations, conferences, cold outreach, and focused campaigns.
- Establish and sustain a high-quality candidate pool for both existing and future job openings, monitoring pipeline health and recruitment metrics such as time-to-fill and channel effectiveness.
- Oversee relationships with recruitment agencies and manage partnerships involving contractors and internships.
- Evaluate candidates from job boards and sourced channels for technical suitability, alignment with company mission, and culture fit, then present carefully vetted candidates with transparent assessments to hiring managers.
- Manage the candidate journey comprehensively, organizing all interview logistics including on-site interviews at the Alameda office, from initial contact to final hiring decisions.
- Participate in hiring interviews alongside managers to offer additional perspectives on candidate capabilities.
- Collaborate with managers and company leadership to clarify job role details, workforce planning, and recruitment methodologies across various departments including engineering, operations, business, marketing, and executive teams, conducting intake sessions for new openings.
- Advise hiring teams on market compensation standards, talent availability, and competitive recruitment in aerospace and defense sectors.
- Ensure all candidates are processed through the company job board and follow established recruitment protocols prior to any job offers.
- Handle the job offer phase, including initiating background checks, negotiating salary packages, and sending offer letters in cooperation with the HR Manager.
- Coordinate with People Operations for seamless transition from recruiting to onboarding once a candidate accepts the offer.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum three years of full-cycle recruitment expertise focused on entry-level to senior technical and engineering positions.
- Proven ability to attract passive candidates using unconventional recruitment techniques such as cold outreach, targeted campaigns, and engagement at industry events and communities.

- Skill in objectively assessing and communicating candidate attributes without exaggeration, serving as a recruitment subject matter expert.
- Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Rippling, and Gusto.
- Background in recruiting within aerospace, defense, space, or advanced manufacturing industries.

- Familiarity with ITAR compliance and related recruitment constraints.
- Combined experience in agency and internal recruiting.
