Supply Chain Manager

About the Role

A prominent manufacturing company in North Dublin is seeking an accomplished Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager to join their growing team. Reporting to the Operations leadership group, the selected candidate will oversee purchasing, procurement, and supply chain operations ensuring steady supply while advancing forecasting accuracy, inventory controls, and supplier efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and execute purchasing and supply chain strategies that align with overall business goals.
• Lead and mentor the purchasing and supply chain team fostering an environment of continuous development and excellence.
• Oversee demand planning, forecasting, and inventory optimization to maintain balance between customer satisfaction and capital utilization.
• Establish and nurture strong partnerships with suppliers, track their performance, and seek opportunities for cost reduction and enhanced service delivery.
• Manage purchasing activities including replenishment, supplier scheduling, and inbound supply chain oversight.
• Enhance Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes and contribute to implementing planning and inventory management solutions.
• Analyze key supply chain KPIs to inform decisions and enhance operational productivity.
• Collaborate closely with operations, sales, finance, and warehouse teams to boost On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) delivery, control inventory levels, and facilitate new product rollouts.
• Identify and act on initiatives to strengthen supply chain resilience and reduce risks.

Candidate Requirements

• At least 5 years in a senior purchasing, procurement, or supply chain manager role within manufacturing, engineering, or distribution sectors.
• Demonstrated expertise in strategic procurement, supplier management, demand forecasting, and inventory control.
• Sound knowledge of forecasting techniques, S&OP frameworks, and supply chain planning methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems along with demand planning or inventory optimization software.
• Strong analytical thinking coupled with commercial awareness and problem-solving skills.
• Effective leadership abilities, robust communication skills, and capability to manage diverse stakeholders.
• Proactive mindset focused on results, with a track record of leading change and delivering ongoing process improvements.
