Overview
Ramraj Cotton, founded in 1983, is a leading manufacturer of traditional Dhoti garments known for its unique designs crafted by skilled weavers. The Studio Manager will oversee daily operations of the studio/showroom, focusing on maintaining garment and fabric presentations, managing sample inventories, coordinating with vendors and distributors, and ensuring exceptional hospitality for visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all studio operations, keeping the space clean, organized, and visually appealing.
- Arrange and maintain garments, fabrics, and seasonal collections with periodic updates to displays.
- Accurately manage sample inventory records for all incoming and outgoing materials.
- Perform routine stock audits to ensure sample availability and quality.
- Collaborate with internal teams for sample collection, display preparation, and new arrivals.
- Coordinate with distributors for product displays, sample requirements, and inquiries, offering prompt support.
- Manage visits by distributors, vendors, customers, auditors, senior management, ensuring hospitality and readiness of meeting spaces.
- Partner with departments including Product Development, Design, Sampling, Production, Quality, and Stores to ensure timely sample availability.
- Lead the studio team by assigning tasks, tracking performance, and providing training in operations and sample handling.
- Maintain detailed visitor logs, inventory and asset registers, and generate weekly and monthly management reports.
- Identify opportunities to enhance studio processes, inventory handling, customer service, and visitor experience.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, maintain confidentiality of samples and designs, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Graduation in any discipline mandatory; MBA or postgraduate degrees are advantageous.
- 8 to 12 years’ experience in apparel, textile, garment export, retail, showroom operations or similar industries.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years in roles involving studio or showroom management, vendor and distributor coordination, sample handling, sales, or customer relationship management.
Technical Skills
- Sound understanding of garments, fabric types, and product development processes.
- Proficient in managing sample inventories including recording inward/outward movement.
- Experienced in vendor coordination and handling distributor relationships.
- Strong customer service and visitor management capabilities.
- Knowledge of visual merchandising and display techniques.
- Competent in hospitality and maintaining high customer service standards.
- Familiarity with ERP, SAP, or similar inventory management systems.
- Effective communication skills; ability in multiple languages is a plus.
