Job description
Position Overview
The British International School Abu Dhabi is inviting applications for the role of Student Support Assistant within the Additional Educational Needs (AEN) Team. This role is dedicated to assisting students with diverse learning needs in a friendly and supportive environment at a well-established and expanding school.
Role Responsibilities
As part of the AEN team, the assistant will deliver targeted support in both classroom settings and one-on-one sessions, adapting educational materials and methods to meet varying learning requirements. Collaborating closely with the Head of Inclusion and teaching staff, the assistant will help design, implement, and reassess personalized educational programs, ensuring consistent and effective support tailored to each student's unique needs. Building constructive relationships with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals is an essential aspect of this position.
Desired Attributes and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be empathetic, patient, and proactive with excellent communication skills and a strong dedication to promoting an inclusive educational environment. Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in an additional language is considered advantageous. Prior experience working within a school setting and having a degree-level education will be beneficial.
