Role Overview

The Speech and Language Specialist will serve as an integral part of ACFA's Jeddah team, operating full-time on premise. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating speech, language, communication, and feeding issues in individuals with ASD and related developmental disorders.

Key Duties

• Perform thorough assessments of speech, language, and communication abilities.
• Create tailored treatment strategies grounded in clinical evaluation and evidence-based methods.
• Provide both individual and group speech-language therapy sessions.
• Monitor therapeutic progress and adjust plans as necessary.
• Maintain precise clinical records and progress documentation.
• Coordinate with various specialists—including behavior therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and educators—to ensure integrated care.
• Instruct parents and caregivers on communication techniques to use at home.
• Engage in public awareness campaigns, workshops, and outreach activities.
• Support programs focused on vocational skills, social communication, and life skills for adolescents and adults.
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement and professional learning activities.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
• Valid professional certification or licensing per Saudi regulatory standards; SCFHS registration preferred.
• Experience delivering speech and language therapy to individuals with ASD.
• Competency in clinical assessment and treatment of communication disorders.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Proficient in documentation, clinical reporting, organizational, and time management tasks.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrates empathy and a family-focused care philosophy.

Preferred qualifications:

• Background in early intervention services.
• Familiarity with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) methods.
• Experience with social communication intervention strategies.
• Knowledge of dysphagia evaluation and treatment.
• Experience in parent coaching and training.
• Fluency in Arabic and English languages.
