Role Overview

The company is seeking its first Solutions Architect responsible for leading the technical aspects of key client engagements. This position serves as the customer's technical liaison throughout the entire engagement lifecycle — from evaluation and proof of concept (POC) to production and ongoing account growth. The architect will design and implement cluster and workload architectures, personally ensuring seamless deployment and performance post-signature without transferring responsibilities to others.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with Sales to vet opportunities and define evaluations tailored to customer success criteria.
• Design AI compute clusters and workload architectures aligned with business goals such as processing speed, cost efficiency, reliability, and utilization metrics.
• Manage POCs comprehensively, including scoping, benchmarking, stakeholder coordination, and defining success measures.
• Oversee the transition from deal closure to first successful production training run by handling provisioning, environment configuration, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Remain the technical point of contact post-launch for architecture reviews, capacity planning, optimization of performance and costs, and workload assessments.
• Proactively identify expansion opportunities based on capacity constraints and customer roadmaps.
• Develop foundational materials for the Solutions Architect team including demo environments, benchmarks, reference architectures, onboarding guides, evaluation workflows, and competitive analyses.
• Serve as a vital feedback channel to Product, Engineering, and Research teams based on recurring customer insights and market trends.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of five years in customer-facing technical roles with at least two years focusing on pre-sales engineering or solutions architecture.
• Hands-on experience with GPU compute platforms, ideally with neocloud providers, GPU service vendors, hyperscalers, or NVIDIA.
• Proven success in guiding customers through evaluation to production phases while maintaining accountability for outcomes.
• In-depth understanding of large-scale AI training and inference workflows, including distributed training technologies, multi-node networking (e.g., InfiniBand, RoCE), storage solutions, and checkpointing mechanisms.
• Practical knowledge of Kubernetes and SLURM as orchestration and job scheduling systems in production environments.
• Competent in Python programming sufficient to develop benchmarks, prototype APIs, or integrations independently.
• Successful track record managing complex, multi-stakeholder technical deals and influencing positive outcomes.
• Exceptional communication skills capable of engaging diverse audiences such as systems engineers and financial executives alike.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience working with frontier AI research labs or AI-native companies.
• Expertise in performance benchmarking, maximizing hardware utilization (MFU), and total cost of training modeling.
• History of establishing or being an early solutions engineer within a company.

• Consistently converting POCs through precise, credible evaluations aligned with customer ROI.
• Accelerating customer progression to first production training runs with delivery matching POC commitments.
• Growing accounts by anticipating and addressing capacity and roadmap needs before customer requests.
• Creating assets that significantly shorten onboarding time and ramp-up for future Solutions Architects.
