Role Overview
The Data Product Platform team creates and maintains scalable event-based and data-powered systems, tools, and frameworks that underpin product experiences used by millions of Notion users. This team's work supports critical product features such as search, automations, user notifications, workspace analytics, and Notion AI.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of infrastructure, tools, and systems enabling data-driven product capabilities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Product, Data Science, Data Engineering, and AI to produce both immediate and strategic results.
- Engage in work across the full technology stack, including infrastructure, libraries, and product code to build internal platforms benefiting multiple product teams.
- Monitor and operate production systems, continuously optimizing performance with minimal disruption to users.
Required Skills and Attributes
- Strong interest and ability to work across the entire stack, comprehending product interfaces, infrastructure, and data flows with a proactive learning attitude.
- A data-oriented mindset toward system development and improvement, using metrics, tracing, logs, and experiments to diagnose and prioritize impactful solutions.
- Experience crafting intuitive developer tools and APIs, with clear documentation and extensible patterns to speed up engineering work.

Preferred Qualifications
- Practical experience working full-stack with Typescript and Node.js ecosystems.

Compensation and Benefits
Notion offers competitive salary packages along with equity and benefits. For positions based in San Francisco, the estimated base salary ranges from $196,000 to $261,000 annually. Actual compensation depends on location, role complexity, experience, and expertise.
