Overview
At Swiggy, Software Development Engineers I play a crucial role in taking full ownership of designing and architecting complex systems. They share responsibility for shaping the technical vision of their team and help drive its success. Collaborating closely with product and business teams, they translate product requirements into scalable high-level and detailed system designs, enabling the development of mission-critical applications.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong proficiency in React Native and core React concepts.
- Hands-on experience and knowledge of Android native app development.
- Solid understanding of ES6 and newer JavaScript standards.
- Proficiency in Typescript is mandatory.
- Sound grasp of design patterns and best practices for writing clean, maintainable, linted, and reusable code.
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
- Experience working with supplementary state management and tool libraries like Redux, Redux Saga, Zustand, or Lerna is advantageous.
- Test-driven development (TDD) experience for unit testing using tools such as Jest and react-native-testing-library is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion best development practices to assist the team in accomplishing technical goals and constantly enhancing the product's technology.
- Design and build user-facing features and mobile applications.
- Create reusable code libraries to facilitate future development.
- Ensure that UI/UX designs are technically feasible and implemented with high fidelity across all Android devices.
- Pay meticulous attention to detail to achieve pixel-perfect implementation.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Understand the internal workings of third-party libraries integrated into the product.
Educational Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
