About the Role
Join a leading aerospace MRO service provider and play an essential role in managing incoming and outgoing aircraft engines and related parts. As a Shipping & Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for handling engine crates, coordinating shipments, and maintaining inventory accuracy to support operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage storage, shipping, handling, delivery, and serial number tracking of engine crates.
- Monitor engine crate shipments to customers and notify Customer Service Managers and customers if delays occur.
- Maintain an up-to-date engine crate database to ensure accurate records.
- Safely package and ship aircraft engines or spare crates using authorized freight companies or carriers.
- Coordinate with courier representatives, customs brokers, customers, and internal teams to facilitate smooth material flow.
- Track shipments and resolve issues with couriers while keeping supervisors informed of any problems.
- Process incoming and outgoing engines according to guidelines and communicate relevant information to involved parties.
- Operate courier shipping systems or complete manual shipping documentation accurately.
- Use forklift equipment to receive deliveries and send shipments, and assist with loading/unloading materials.
- Prepare arrival notifications, customs paperwork, and shipment documentation timely.
- Handle time-sensitive materials efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain engine humidity logs and conduct crate audits regularly.
- Ensure warehouse cleanliness, organization, and safety standards following 5S methodology.
- Maintain HAZMAT certification and related documentation requirements.
- Perform any additional duties to promote departmental productivity and compliance.
Requirements
- Possess a valid class 5 driver's license or its equivalent.
- Be capable of lifting objects up to 50 pounds for approximately one-quarter of the typical workday.
- Wear required personal protective equipment throughout the shift without constraints.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and statutory holidays as operational demands require.
- Be legally authorized to work permanently in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in logistics, shipping, warehouse, or transportation roles is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Less Than Truckload (LTL) carriers, freight classifications, and National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) codes is beneficial.
- Experience with transportation management software is a plus.
- Forklift certification or readiness to obtain certification.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Creative problem-solving capabilities.
