Overview
B&Q is hiring a Shift Lead for its Washington store in Tyne and Wear, England, United Kingdom. This is a permanent, full-time role scheduled for 36.75 hours per week. The position is keyholder-based, with working hours that may begin as early as 6:00 am and can finish as late as 9:00 pm.
The annual full-time equivalent pay is £27,709.50, and the package also includes pension benefits and 6.6 weeks of holiday. In this role, you will help create a safe, smooth, and positive environment for both customers and colleagues, supporting B&Q’s aim of helping people build homes they love.
Role purpose
As a Shift Lead, you will take ownership of your shift and help keep day-to-day store activity running effectively. You will act as a visible point of support for customers and colleagues, ensuring the store operates safely and that the right people are in the right places to deliver a strong customer experience.
Key responsibilities
- Keep the store operating efficiently during your shift and act as the main driver of daily store rhythm.
- Deploy team members appropriately so customer needs are met throughout the shift.
- Serve as the first contact for both customers and colleagues when support is needed.
- Maintain a consistently safe environment across the store.
