Position Overview
Aurizon is seeking a dedicated and well-organized Shift Coordinator to join the Dry Creek team in Adelaide. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to safety, and the capacity to maintain composure and focus in a fast-paced, operational setting. You will manage daily yard and crew activities, providing essential support to Locomotive Drivers and Rail Operators. The role operates on a rotating 24/7 schedule, consisting of 7 shifts over 14 days.
Key Responsibilities
- Directing and supporting train crew members throughout shifts
- Managing daily yard operations and adapting to shifting priorities
- Monitoring safety standards, operational performance, and service quality
- Coordinating communication with internal teams and external customers to ensure smooth operations
- Ensuring adherence to all company procedures and operational guidelines
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, practical approach to work, strong organizational skills, and adaptability to manage changing priorities. They should prioritize safety and teamwork in all tasks.
- Collaborative mindset with a strong safety commitment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- High computer literacy and quick adaptability to new systems
- Problem-solving orientation with readiness to address challenges
- Flexibility and eagerness to enhance operational processes
- Preferably 3 to 5 years of experience in a related operational or coordination role, though relevant transferable experience will be considered
