Senior Tax Manager

Role Overview

An established and fast-growing professional services firm is looking for a technically capable Senior Tax Manager to join its Brisbane City team. This position sits in a leadership capacity and combines client portfolio ownership, tax and compliance delivery, team mentoring, and a strong focus on service quality.

You will work closely with senior leaders to improve workflow efficiency, uphold high standards across client delivery, and help support the firm’s continued growth. The role also includes supervising a small team and ensuring clients receive accurate and timely advice and lodgements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, grow, and manage a varied portfolio of clients.
• Provide tax compliance and advisory support to a high standard.
• Prepare and check income tax returns, financial statements, BAS, and IAS.
• Make sure all work is delivered within ATO timeframes and internal quality expectations.
• Own job workflow and see tasks through to completion.
• Assess work produced by junior team members and give practical feedback.
• Coach, guide, and develop direct reports, including carrying out performance reviews.
• Maintain strong client connections through regular and effective communication.
• Help identify and pursue new business opportunities.
• Support the onboarding and training of new employees.
• Keep current with tax law changes, accounting standards, and broader industry updates.
