About Datacom and the Role

As a Senior Solution Specialist in our Information Management and Productivity Solutions team, you will collaborate with customers to co-create transformative Microsoft 365 solutions that enhance collaboration, information management, and workplace productivity. Your role focuses on delivering outstanding consulting experiences while working closely with clients to understand their needs and co-design effective solutions.
This position supports a flexible working model with a mix of remote work and office presence, primarily located in New Zealand, and applications are sought only from Australian and New Zealand residents. Due to customer requirements, candidates must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents; visa sponsorship is not available.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead ICT consulting engagements by applying co-design methods to solve client challenges and support organizational objectives.
- Prepare and deliver polished presentations, product demos, and workshops tailored to client needs.
- Collect and analyze business requirements to produce thorough project documents such as solution designs and reports.
- Provide technical leadership for Microsoft 365, including information management, Power Apps, and Power Automate solutions.
- Develop and implement Microsoft 365 solutions across platforms like SharePoint Online, Teams, Power Automate, and Power Apps.
- Lead migration projects transitioning information from legacy systems to modern Microsoft 365 environments.
- Advise customers on best practices for document control and records management to ensure compliance and data integrity.
- Enhance customer capabilities by coaching, demonstrating solutions, and creating training materials.
- Estimate effort for proposals and contribute to presales activities.
- Adhere to ITIL standards and best practices, including change and release management.
- Provide governance and ongoing support for Microsoft 365 and Power Platform solutions.
Required Experience and Skills
- Significant prior consultancy experience in an ICT professional services setting.
- In-depth expertise in designing, building, and deploying Microsoft 365 Power Apps and Power Automate solutions.
- Proven experience migrating data into Microsoft 365 from older systems.
- Strong facilitation skills with the ability to design and lead client workshops effectively.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills capable of translating complex technical concepts clearly to business stakeholders.
- Competence in converting complex business challenges into actionable Microsoft 365 solutions.
- Experience in creating and implementing enterprise information architectures.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Extensive knowledge of core Microsoft 365 collaboration tools such as SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Purview for information governance and protection.
- Capability in creating PowerShell scripts for automation and administrative tasks.
- Strong grasp of information management principles.
Desirable Skills
- Development experience with SharePoint Framework (SPFx), JavaScript, C#, and HTML/CSS.
- Building custom integrations linking Microsoft 365 with other business applications.
- Experience with AvePoint tools like Opus, Backup, Cloud Governance, Policies and Insights, and Fly.
- Proficiency using ShareGate for migration and administrative operations.
