Role Mission

As part of an ever-evolving engineering team, this role involves designing, developing, and optimizing smart contracts and related blockchain architecture critical to 1inch's operations. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver and passionate about decentralization and blockchain innovation. Embracing AI tools to enhance development and code quality is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Design blockchain systems focusing on scalability, security, and efficient performance.
• Develop, maintain, and integrate smart contracts across decentralized protocols.
• Conduct research and create prototypes for new DeFi and blockchain technologies.
• Design and improve interoperability solutions, including blockchain bridges and atomic swaps.
• Enhance smart contract execution efficiency by aiming to reduce gas costs and latency.
• Partner with internal and external security teams to identify and fix vulnerabilities.
• Lead code reviews, establish engineering best practices, and improve CI/CD workflows.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, promoting a collaborative culture.

Candidate Profile

• Over 7 years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years in blockchain engineering.
• Deep knowledge of Ethereum and the EVM ecosystem, including proficiency in Solidity, Yul, and decentralized application architecture.
• Experience deploying smart contracts in production and working with Layer 2 scaling solutions and cross-chain technology.
• Ability to influence architectural decisions and lead complex projects end-to-end.
• Strong grasp of smart contract security, auditing, and vulnerability mitigation techniques.
• Comfortable thriving in fast-moving, high-growth environments.
• Effective problem solver with a proactive, ownership-driven approach.

Desirable Additional Expertise

• Contributions to open-source blockchain or DeFi projects.
• Knowledge of zero-knowledge proofs and rollup technologies.
• Experience developing high-performance distributed systems or infrastructures requiring low latency.
• Understanding of DeFi mechanisms such as liquidity aggregation and on-chain trading solutions.
• Familiarity with Web3 developer tools and automation of blockchain infrastructure.
