Senior Project Manager - Data Centre Deployment

Role Overview

A leading global technology solutions provider seeks a Senior Project Manager to oversee the deployment of technology infrastructure across multiple new data centre builds in Australia. These centres support AI and generative AI workloads. The candidate will be responsible for the technology and services fit-out including power systems, cabling, racks, GPU installation, and HVAC cooling solutions, distinct from the base building construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of multi-site data centre deployment projects, from initiation to final handover.
• Coordinate and manage specialist vendors and delivery partners responsible for the entire technology fit-out scope.
• Oversee budgets, timelines, and risk management across several concurrent deployment sites.
• Regularly report progress and present project status to senior internal and client stakeholders.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to project team members to foster skill development and effective delivery.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years' experience managing projects in IT, network, or telecommunications infrastructure.
• Proven experience managing large-scale multi-site deployments and third-party delivery teams.
• Hands-on experience with ground-up builds; applicants only experienced in data centre migrations, upgrades, or civil construction should not apply.
• Strong background preferred from mobile network or radio base station deployment project management.
• Direct experience with data centre projects is a plus but not mandatory.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with comfort presenting to executive-level audiences.
• Must be based in Sydney or Melbourne and able to work fully remotely, with occasional site and stakeholder meeting visits.

Additional Information

This opportunity is part of a substantial infrastructure program with predominately remote work arrangements and periodic on-site engagements. The initial contract duration is 12 months with daily rate remuneration.
