Senior People Analytics Analyst

About the Role

The People Data & Intelligence team at Uber drives organizational performance by transforming employee data into actionable insights. We collaborate with senior leadership to enhance organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and workforce outcomes across all stages of the talent lifecycle, from recruitment to retention.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with diverse stakeholders including HR business partners, business leaders, and people teams to clarify ambiguous business challenges and translate them into detailed analysis plans and success metrics.
• Deliver accurate and timely data-driven insights that guide strategic decisions, roadmaps, and organizational health assessments.
• Design and build scalable data models and clean, structured data layers to facilitate rapid data analysis.
• Develop bespoke analytical tools and internal web applications, such as automated reporting systems, chatbots, or insight generators, using Python frameworks including Flask and Streamlit to support self-service data access.
• Maintain high coding standards by developing, documenting, and preserving clean codebases and analytics best practices for sustainability and scalability.
• Adopt a proactive and collaborative approach by taking on tactical or foundational data tasks to support team goals and unblock projects when needed.

Basic Qualifications

• Possess a bachelor's or master's degree in quantitative or analytical disciplines like Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Analytics.
• Have at least 4 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, data engineering, or related roles focused on generating insights within a corporate setting.
• Demonstrate strong SQL skills with over 3 years of writing complex and efficient queries on extensive production datasets independently.
• Experience in building lightweight applications and analytical tools using frameworks such as Streamlit and Flask.
• Proficient with standard business intelligence and data visualization platforms like Tableau and Looker to create intuitive dashboards and transform raw data into accessible visual narratives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in Python for large-scale data manipulation, automation, analytical modeling, or implementing machine learning solutions.
• Familiarity with modern Generative AI technologies and APIs to create intelligent data applications, streamline analytical workflows, and extract actionable findings from complex datasets.
• Experience with People Analytics or Human Resources data, including exposure to Human Capital Management systems and employee feedback (survey) analysis.
• Expertise in experimental design, exploratory data analysis, statistical methods, and data modeling techniques.
• Background in collaborating closely with product and engineering teams within dynamic, cross-functional environments.

Compensation and Additional Benefits

This San Francisco, CA-based role offers a base salary ranging from USD 131000 to USD 145000 annually. Eligible employees may participate in Uber’s bonus program and receive equity awards alongside other forms of compensation. Full-time staff can also benefit from a 401(k) retirement plan and various other employee benefits.

Work Environment and Policies

Uber values a hybrid work model, encouraging employees to spend at least 50% of their time working onsite to promote collaboration and maintain company culture.
