Position Overview
This role partners with Asset Managers to manage all facets of development projects, leading both new developments and ongoing asset management within commercial and retail sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects comprehensively to meet schedule, budget, safety, and quality benchmarks consistently.
- Direct and coordinate internal teams and external consultants throughout feasibility, design, procurement, construction, and handover phases by providing clear leadership and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory authorities and local legal requirements while upholding corporate delegation of authority and procurement protocols.
- Drive design evolution from initial feasibility through to final execution, optimizing net lettable or saleable areas in line with company objectives.
- Collaborate closely with headquarters, asset management, and business units to define project scope, evaluate risks, and establish mitigation strategies.
- Formulate procurement plans to obtain competitive pricing, manage shortlisting processes for consultants, contractors, and vendors, and oversee contract negotiations and change orders.
- Track construction progress by forecasting and monitoring site operations, costs, safety standards, and quality control to ensure project goals are met.
- Manage financials by monitoring expenditures, implementing cost-saving initiatives, adhering to budgets, and ensuring project profitability.
- Support company-wide efforts in sustainability, buildability, compliance, and governance by integrating these principles into project workflows.
- Exhibit strong leadership capabilities in strategic planning, stakeholder communication, and team management while maintaining integrity and zero tolerance for unethical practices.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Possess a degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering; Quantity Surveying; Project Management; or a closely related discipline.
- Have at least eight years of demonstrated comprehensive experience in development projects, covering design, project management, administration, and onsite execution.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in integrated development projects.
- Exhibit robust business acumen, excellent communication skills, ability to lead teams autonomously, cultural sensitivity, resilience, and adaptability to change.
- Continuously seek improvements in designs and processes by challenging existing approaches and applying value engineering to optimize project elements.
- Maintain a positive mindset coupled with exceptional organizational and planning abilities.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to effectively address conflicts, delays, and unforeseen complications.
- Hold in-depth knowledge of construction methods, industry contracts, regulations, and maintain a solid professional network within the construction sector.
