About the Role

Main Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute comprehensive device and data lifecycle strategies to optimize financial returns and customer satisfaction.
- Establish advanced partnership frameworks with OEMs and digital ecosystem collaborators.
- Lead a customer-focused culture and promote data-driven decisions company-wide.
- Contribute to pricing, bundling, and market launch strategies.
- Scout emerging technologies to integrate into offerings.
- Manage device portfolio development as a competitive differentiator.
- Collaborate on market research with CVM and Commercial teams to guide product innovation.
- Steer campaign creation aligned with MTN's brand promises.
- Track Data & Devices unit results, ensuring business goals are met.
- Handle vendor partnerships and optimize supply chain performance.
- Innovate financing solutions to lessen customers' smartphone purchase burdens.
- Implement affordability initiatives to boost product adoption and loyalty.
- Oversee budgets, forecasts, and financial metrics to enhance EBITDA.
- Leverage bulk purchasing for cost advantages.
- Maintain prudent financial practices for sustainable profitability.
- Advise on governance standards and elevated client experience practices.
- Ensure compliance with data security policies and continuous improvements.
- Develop contingency plans to mitigate market or performance risks.
- Create analytic models supporting risk-aware management decisions.
- Enforce adherence to business risk and reputation management norms.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics or related disciplines.
- Additional certification in marketing or postgraduate business/commercial qualifications considered beneficial.
- At least 8 years of experience managing data and devices with a minimum of 5 years in managerial roles; leadership experience in technology or OEM sales is favorable.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing strategic partnerships, marketing, market research, sales, and distribution channels.
Technical Knowledge and Skills
- Expertise in device lifecycle management, covering procurement to recycling.
- Experience integrating technologies such as IoT, AI, cloud, and mobile money into customer products.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity, data integrity, and compliance.
- Financial proficiency in designing financing models and managing budgets.
- Ability to manage stakeholders, vendors, and partnerships effectively.
- Competence in market research, customer analytics, and value proposition design.
- Skill in product development and executing go-to-market strategies.
- Project and quality management to ensure timely and quality delivery.
- Knowledge of sustainable practices like green device lifecycle management.
- Understanding of digital customer experience design and omnichannel personalization.
- Capability to develop new revenue streams from data monetization.
- Awareness of global device and data trends and ability to adapt to local market.
- Proficiency in decision modeling, business analytics, and risk assessment.
