Role overview
Cyient is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer in Hyderabad to support electrical drafting, drawing review, and documentation control for engineering projects. The position focuses on producing accurate CAD-based deliverables, checking them against project and client standards, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to close drawing issues efficiently.
Electrical drafting
- Create and revise electrical engineering drawings using tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar CAD software.
- Produce Single Line Diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, termination drawings, panel layouts, equipment layouts, and earthing layouts.
- Update drawings based on redline comments and design changes.
- Make sure all drawings align with client drafting practices and project-specific expectations.
- Work with engineering teams to resolve drawing-related queries and issues.
Quality checking and review
- Carry out thorough quality checks on drawings and related documentation before release.
- Confirm that drawings are correct, complete, consistent, and compliant with the project scope.
- Review modifications and ensure design revisions are reflected properly.
- Perform interdisciplinary checks to spot clashes and inconsistencies.
- Log quality observations and support corrective action with relevant stakeholders.
- Take part in drawing audits and continuous quality improvement efforts.
Documentation and project support
- Maintain drawing registers and document control records.
- Assist engineering teams with deliverables prepared for client submission.
- Ensure proper document numbering, revision tracking, and metadata handling.
- Support estimation inputs, progress reporting, and other project documentation tasks.
Required qualifications and experience
- A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
- Overall experience of 4–5 years in electrical drafting and design quality checking.
- Strong knowledge of electrical drawing practices and engineering standards.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
- Background in mining, oil and gas, power, industrial, infrastructure, or material handling projects is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of power distribution, MCCs, PLCs, instrumentation, and cable management systems.
Technical and preferred capabilities
- Electrical drafting and documentation.

- Wiring and termination drawing preparation.
- Cable schedule development.
- Earthing and lightning protection drawings.
