Senior Data Engineer (f/m/d)

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced data infrastructure utilizing AI-native engineering techniques. This role involves spearheading AI DevEx initiatives by deploying AI agents to efficiently construct, scale, and evolve high-performance data systems.

Core Responsibilities

• Architect and enhance complex data systems prioritizing scalability, dependability, and ease of maintenance over time.
• Create and fine-tune production-ready data pipelines with emphasis on high-volume real-time streaming.
• Implement Spec-Driven Development (SDD) methodologies using tools like OpenSpec or GitHub Spec Kit to enforce strict engineering specifications for consistent and quality AI code output.
• Manage agentic AI workflows employing Claude Code and the Model Context Protocol to accelerate infrastructure development and refactoring.
• Assume full responsibility for system modules, independently addressing sophisticated technical challenges.
• Design and maintain comprehensive testing and monitoring systems to safeguard critical data integrity.
• Guide and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical rigor and collaborative feedback through architectural reviews.

Required Qualifications

• At least 10 years of overall experience, including more than 5 years in dedicated data engineering roles.
• Proficient with Kafka, covering producers, consumers, and stream processing, for building scalable real-time systems.
• Expertise in OLAP databases, with a strong preference for experience in Clickhouse.
• Fluent in Python and SQL for sophisticated data manipulation, optimization, and system development.
• Enthusiastic adoption of agentic AI-assisted development, specifically with Claude Code, to autonomously handle codebases and streamline complex engineering processes without compromising code quality.
• Hands-on expertise with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, along with automated continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
• Extensive experience working with open-source tools integral to the modern data technology ecosystem.
• Excellent communication capabilities and a commitment to work within a transparent, feedback-oriented environment.
• Fluent in English language.
