Role Summary

The Senior Civil / Structural Design Engineer will be responsible for leading the design, analysis, and review of civil and structural components for buildings and infrastructure projects based in Al Khobar. This on-site, full-time position involves preparing structural calculations, technical reports, and drawings in compliance with codes and client requirements, coordinating with architects, MEP engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate structural solutions into overall designs. The engineer will supervise junior staff, verify CAD and AutoCAD drawings, participate in design reviews, and provide guidance on construction practices and materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and validation of structural calculations and design documentation.
• Review and oversee CAD and AutoCAD outputs for accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including architects and MEP engineers to integrate structural elements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
• Participate actively in quality assurance processes and design reviews.
• Conduct risk assessments and contribute to value engineering for efficient project delivery.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant local and international building codes and standards.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in structural design, preferably at a senior or lead engineer level within consultancy or construction.
• Comprehensive knowledge of structural analysis and civil engineering principles, including materials and construction methods.
• Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and AutoCAD for engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with local and international codes and standards and practical application thereof.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with attention to detail in documentation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with leadership skills to manage junior staff.
• Professional registration (e.g., PE or equivalent) is beneficial but not mandatory.
