About Australian Payments Plus

Australian Payments Plus (AP+) is working to influence the next phase of payments in Australia, with a focus on building more innovation into the country’s payments ecosystem for the benefit of businesses, government, and consumers.

The organisation’s offerings span domestic debit networks, real-time data-rich payment infrastructure, secure bill payment solutions, digital identity verification, QR-based payments and experiences, and open wallet capabilities.

Role Purpose

This is a 12-month maximum-term contract for a Senior Change Manager to lead change across a varied mix of technology, product, and business initiatives. The main focus will be on smaller to medium-sized technology projects within the portfolio, working closely with squads. Based on business needs, the role may also support strategic business-led change work centred on people, capability, and new ways of working.

The position is accountable for building integrated approaches to change, communications, engagement, and learning, while also helping strengthen change capability among leaders and delivery teams. It also contributes to improving AP+ change practices through the broader change community.

Core Accountabilities

  • Design and execute practical change strategies and plans that enable AP+ initiatives to succeed.
  • Develop and deliver tailored change, communication, engagement, and learning activities that encourage adoption.
  • Guide and coach leaders and delivery teams so their change capability grows across initiatives.
  • Help enhance change methods and practices through the Change Community of Practice.

Experience and Capability

  • A change management certification is required.
  • At least 5 years of demonstrated experience leading change management in complex or shifting environments.
  • Ability to work independently while staying closely connected with a capable and collaborative change team.
  • Hands-on mindset, including creating change materials, assessing impacts, and shaping workable mitigations.
  • Strong interest in influencing behaviours and mindsets across the organisation.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to translate strategy into execution.
  • Clear communicator with the ability to build trust and influence across all levels.
  • Confident operating in both agile and waterfall delivery environments.
