Role Overview

As a Senior AI Data Engineer at Sangoma, you will spearhead the development of a modern, scalable enterprise data platform built on AWS, forming the backbone for reporting, operational decision-making, automation, and AI. You will join a specialized team tasked with designing and implementing a new greenfield lakehouse data architecture, establishing standards and engineering practices that transform Sangoma's data into a trusted organizational asset.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and scale a cloud-based data platform that supports analytics, business intelligence, and artificial intelligence capabilities.
• Create governed and trustworthy data products foundational for enterprise-wide reporting and decision-making.
• Design automated, reliable data pipelines that integrate Sangoma’s core business systems into a unified scalable architecture.
• Define and enforce engineering standards concerning data quality, governance, security, observability, and platform reliability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, finance, and business operations teams to solve complex data problems and unlock new organizational capabilities.
• Contribute to the strategic vision and technical roadmap of the enterprise data platform.

Qualifications and Experience

Successful candidates will have demonstrable experience in building cloud-based data platforms and translating complex data into scalable business solutions trusted by stakeholders. Collaboration skills across diverse technical and business teams are essential.

• Proficiency with cloud data platforms, especially AWS or equivalents.
• Expertise in developing data pipelines using Python and SQL.
• Experience with data modeling, transformation, and orchestration tools.
• Familiarity with modern data warehouses such as Snowflake or Redshift.
• Working knowledge of Git source control and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) methodologies.
• Strong abilities in designing secure, reliable, and governed data systems.

Additional advantages include experience with AI and machine learning data workflows, ERP/CRM systems like NetSuite and Salesforce, and familiarity with search and vector database technologies.
