Senior Accountant

About the Role

We are searching for a highly skilled and proactive Senior Accountant to join our team in Saudi Arabia. The ideal professional will possess comprehensive expertise in technical accounting, hands-on audit practice, and extensive experience in revenue recognition, taxation, and financial reporting under IFRS. The position involves direct ownership of end-to-end accounting functions, ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle revenue recognition in compliance with IFRS and internal company policies ensuring accurate financial representation.
• Manage entire invoicing cycle by monitoring and ensuring prompt issuance and reconciling billing, revenue, contracts, and general ledger transactions regularly.
• Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing procedures, preparing schedules and performing accruals, prepayments, cost allocations, reconciliations, and variance analysis delivering actionable insights.
• Take charge of VAT and Withholding Tax compliance including computation, filing, tracking, and adherence to local tax legislations.
• Act as primary contact for external audits by preparing audit documentation, addressing auditor inquiries, and coordinating corrective measures.
• Conduct bank reconciliations frequently, monitor cash flows, facilitate treasury reporting, and assist in cash flow forecasting.
• Support payroll processing by verifying accuracy, coordinating with HR, and ensuring proper reconciliation of payroll components.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with IFRS and corporate accounting policies, offering guidance on accounting treatments for new transactions and policy updates.
• Compile ad-hoc reports, financial analyses, and management insights to assist budgeting, performance monitoring, and strategic decision-making.

Requirements

• Possess 5 to 7 years of solid accounting experience with a strong preference for candidates with audit backgrounds.
• Demonstrated expertise managing the full accounting cycle and generating complete financial statements in line with IFRS standards.
• Practical knowledge of revenue recognition, VAT and Withholding Tax compliance, month-end closings, financial reporting, and audit coordination.
• Experience working within the Saudi Arabian market and familiarity with the ZATCA regulatory environment are advantageous.
• Proficient in ERP platforms and advanced user of MS Excel for complex financial tasks.
• Strong analytical capabilities, excellent organizational skills, and effective communication prowess.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a master’s degree and/or professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CMA are preferred.
